GISetc believes in the power of face-to-face training opportunities for professionals who desire GIS skills acquisition.  To this end, we have provided week-long institutes in very interesting and diverse locations across the globe. Since the summer of 2000, we have provided GIS professional development for K-12, college, and informal educators from varied locations such as California to New York to London and Abu Dhabi. These are just a few of the fascinating settings where GISetc has conducted GIS institutes.

In addition to our United States institutes, we began offering GIS field experiences in the Sarapiquí region of Costa Rica every year since the summer of 2004.  In 2005 we added a countrywide exploration of magical New Zealand. In 2007 and 2008 we hosted a GIS training event in the Peruvian Amazon.  In 2009 we also explored the Australian Outback. 2013 took us to Hawaii to study volcanoes with Gary Lewis and GSA!

Our trademark robust geospatial teaching model combined with our warm and personalized approach will join to capture the magic and wonder of the world\’s natural treasures.   • The one hour presentation is designed to be an introduction to GIS, GPS, geospatial technologies, integrating technology or incorporating geospatial technology into a specific course of study.
  • Price includes any handouts and a Zoom room and registration links for participants.
  • The  three-hour workshop is designed to be a hands-on experience for participants.  Price includes any virtual handouts and provide a Zoom room and registration links for participants for up to 20 attendees*.
  • *$300 for an additional 20 attendees (up to a total of 50 for virtual)
  • The one day workshop is designed to be an extensive hands-on, multi-sensory experience for the participants.  Price includes any virtual handouts and provide a Zoom room and registration links for participants up to 20 attendees*.

  • The one week workshop is full immersion into all aspects of integrating geospatial technologies into all subjects.  We\’ll cover  best practices and standards integrations in depth.  The week includes daily hands-on computer work as well as outdoor learning experiences.  We explore the how-to do create lessons and model collaborative learning environments.  Price includes all handouts and presumes availability of a projector and screen, computer lab or comparable setup for up to 20 attendees*.  If extra travel or accommodations are required, that\’s an extra expense.
